Hank Bobbit
singer of the Berlin-based Kick-Ass Sixties-Garage Band “Lorena and the Bobbits” - presents her solo-project:
“Accustic Love & Hate Songs”
The accustic guitar is being maltreated as if it were electric and hooked up to a giant amp…but since it is not, here at last the singers colourful voice is to be heard. A treat usually subdued in the multiple feedback of a band, that only knows one level of volume: FULL VOLUME!!!
The mostly original songs are presented by a character, that knows how to protect herself from many distractions in this world, but stands helpless in front of one: The charms of Women. With force and passion, a sense of self-irony and a knee-deep knowledge of the ever so twisted ways of love, 2 million heartbreaks are dealt with - in only 30 minutes!Rae Spoon
Rae Spoon is a young artist who proudly follows in the time-honored tradition of the singers he respects. Armed with influences such as Woody Guthrie and Hank Williams, he continues to mine the territory that lays between reverence for the greats and his own original perspective and voice. Rae’s cowboy-folk twang and prairie imagery is borne out of his history as an Albertan and his lyrics stem from his own unique life experience as a person who is transgendered (born female now identifies as male). Constant touring (mostly on the greyhound) with just a banjo and a guitar has also added to the depth of his storytelling.
