Maggots and Men, an experimental historical narrative set in post-revolutionary Russia, re-tells the story of the 1921 uprising of the Kronstadt sailors with a subtext of gender anarchy. A thoughtful homage to Soviet silent era directors and artists of the Russian avant-garde, the film explores themes of re-invention, revolution, community, and corruption.

Infos - Rückblick 2009 - Aufruf 2010

Der europäische Rechtsruck hat sich kürzlich auch in Ungarns Parlament manifestiert. Diskriminierung und Hetze gegen sogenannte Minderheiten wurden in den letzten Jahren in der ungarischen Gesellschaft immer spürbarer.
Diese Entwicklung lässt sich auch an der öffentlichen Wahrnehmung der Budapester Pride, dem jährlichen Umzug für Akzeptanz und gegen Homophobie und Diskriminierung von Lesben, Schwulen, Bisexuellen und Transgendern, nachzeichnen. Diese wurde in den letzten drei Jahren des nunmehr 15-jährigen Bestehens von Neonazis und rechtsorientierten Bevölkerungsteilen immer offener attackiert.
Wir berichten von unseren Erfahrungen der Pride 2009, rufen auf, sich zu solidarisieren und zusammen um den 10. Juli zu der Budapester Pride 2010 zu fahren.

Information – Review of 2009 – Call for 2010

Recently, the right-wing backlash in Europe came to the fore in the Hungarian Parliament. Discrimination - be it misanthropic agitation or downright violence – against nonheterosexual-identified minorities increased rigorously in the Hungarian Society over the past few years.
This reactionary development can be illustrated regarding the Budapest Pride Parade, an annual parade claiming acceptance of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people. In its 15-year-old history, the previous three parades were clouded by violent attacks from neo-nazis, strongly supported by rightist parts of the public.
We’d like to share the impressions and experiences we gained at the Budapest Pride 2009. And even more important, we’d love to find people willing to take their solidarity to the streets and join us this year for the Budapest Pride at the 10th of July.
